Sarah Brosio is a PhD student in the Political Science Department at UCSB. She studies comparative politics with a regional interest in the Middle East. Her area of study is civil-military relations, coups,and coup-proofing. Sarah’s dissertation investigates how states that have stable civilian control, but have had a long history of military influence, are able to maintain civilian control.
