Antonádia Borges, an anthropologist and professor at the Rio de Janeiro Federal Rural University, has conducted research on land, housing, labour, and education in Brazil and South Africa. Her work acknowledges how combative ontologies  question modernist developmentalist models, anti-blackness, and apartheid. Lately, she has been interested in investigating academia through analytical lenses that highlight its persistent colonial extractivist tentacles vis-à-vis creative projects of being Human otherwise, which challenge higher education institutions to be more than epistemic plantations.
